It’s good to live in Shawnee.

At least that’s what Money magazine is telling its readers.

The magazine named Shawnee as the 70th best place to live in America. Lenexa also made the list, coming in at number 59.

They were the only cities from Kansas to make the list.

Around 2,400 cities were studied by researchers when determining the rankings.

For the list, Money identified 100 spots that offer a healthy economy, affordable homes, and a high quality of life.

Rankings were determined by categories such as housing, cost of living, amenities, educational scores and graduation rates and crime statistics, among other factors.

When it ranked Shawnee, the magazine noted Shawnee’s median home price is $252,985, its projected job growth is 5.5 percent, its median household income is $75,937, it boasts 216 clear days per year, the average commute time is 20 minutes and its high school graduation rate is 90.9 percent.
