John Smith commenced training under the tutelage of Wong Shun Leung back in 1991, and continued regular training until the untimely death of Wong Sifu in 1997.
John has returned to Hong Kong on regular occasions to train with senior Wong Shun Leung students to which he has developed a respect for the skill that he has developed over that time.
In total, John has travelled to Hong Kong on 15 separate occasions, and has travelled on additional times to visit and track the actual roots of Ving Tsun in Mainland China.
John is an accredited instructor under the Ving Tsun Athletic Association and continues to teach Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun in its purest form. He teaches a small school on the beautiful Mid South Coast of Australia, named the Illawarra Ving Tsun School. John currently works as a Project Engineering Manager for the mining giant BHPBilliton.
